The KKB action in Papua was very disturbing. They not only attacked the police-TNI officers, but also civilians. Papuans are helping to stop the KKB action As did the residents of Oksamol District, Papua. They condemned the atrocities of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) which killed First Brigadier Mario Sanoi, Friday (28/5). Danton Linmas of Oksamol District, Ansel His name, emphasized that residents expressed their refusal to enter the KKB into their territory. They also threatened to fight the KKB using traditional weapons if they forced their way into their neighborhood.
“We, the people of Oksamol district, were angry with the incident, so we gathered together and using traditional weapons, we chased the killers who were still not far from our village. “We were shot at by them but we continued to go after them,” Ansel said in his statement , Monday (31/5).
Ansel said that it was not the first time that the residents of Oksamol District rejected the KKB. People openly reject the presence of the Papua New Guinea (PNG) organization. “We had a tribal war with the people of our neighboring country, Papua New Guinea (PNG) where they claimed that the area where we lived was part of the PNG state,” said Ansel.
Ansel emphasized that none of the residents of Oksamul District were involved and became members of the KKB. For this reason, residents rejected the presence of the KKB. “I believe the perpetrators are a Papuan terrorist group in the Ngalum Kupel region led by Lamek Taplo. They are not native Oksamol people but they are people from outside Oksamol who came in to disrupt us in the Oksamol district,” he said.
